Blog Post #6- The Beatitudes

1)  What were new things that you learned about the Beatitudes?
Although I was familiar with the Beatitudes, I did learn new things about it. I was able to figure out my own interpretations of each Beatitude. This made me appreciate the Beatitudes more. I also valued seeing other people's interpretations, it gave me a different view. This taught me they're are different ways to view each Beatitude. Overall I learned how to interpret and find the deeper meaning of the Beatitudes.

2) Which Beatitude resonates with you the most and why?
I would say that the first beatitude resonates with me the most. I find that this beatitude resonateswith me the most because it gives hope. Whenever I feel down or lonely or like life just isn'tgoing the way I want it to I can always remember it will get better. Even if life doesn't get better you will find peace and happiness in heaven. It is basically saying everyone will find peace whether its when your alive or in heaven. I feel like this is a good uplifting statement everyone should hear.

3) What were some things you realized during the class discussion (“gallery walk”)?
I was surprised by what I took out of the gallery walk. I was expecting for everyone to have fairly similar answers, but everyone thought of it completely differently. I learned something new from everyone's poster. I also liked the different symbols everyone chose for each beatitude. All of them really matched to their interpretation. Overall the gallery walked really helped me.

4) How can you display the beatitudes more in your life?
I can display the beatitudes more in my life by looking at them everyday. I feel like if I look at them it could remind me to be humble. For, it will remind me how lucky I am. I can also remember that their is people going through these things all around us. I can reach out to help people struggling. I can also talk about it with other people so that we both become more educated on the beatitudes.

I chose this picture because it is a picture of when Jesus first said the Beatitudes.
