Blog #2 Who is Jesus to Me?
1) Prior to this class, what did you already know about Jesus and where did this information come from?
Before this class I knew the basic stories in the Bible and everything I learned from Faith and Morality and Hebrew Scriptures. I also learned from my parents and just going to church sometimes. I also had religion classes in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. In 6th grade I went to a Lutheran so I learned a lot about the Lutheran religion. In 7th and 8th grade I went to a Catholic school and learned about the Catholic religion. At home and the religion I grew up with is Greek Orthodox.

2) What new insights did you gain about Jesus from this unit? How does this change or confirm what you already thought?
From this unit I have learned new stories and perspectives of different people on Jesus. This unit helped me refresh my memory on the the stories in the bible and Jesus. The many stories of Jesus are very interesting. I learn something new from each story overtime I read or hear it. Even though people may tell the stories differently there is always a base to a story that everyone has. Especially with stories in the bible, they're not all 100% accurate but they all have a message they are trying to put out.
3) Do you feel that you see Jesus as more of a spiritual figure, a historical figure, and/or both? Why?
I personally see Jesus as more of spiritual figure. I grew up hearing that there isn't physical proof of Jesus. I always thought you just have to believe because no one just made this up. Even though their wasn't physical proof of Jesus people wrote the stories down into what is now the Christian Bible and the New Testament. Jesus was important when he was on earth and he's still important when he's not. In both ways he helped us grow spiritually and become better people.
4) How would you describe your relationship with Jesus?
I would say my relationship with Jesus is pretty good. I do believe in Jesus and I look to Jesus for a lot. Whenever I'm having a bad day I turn to Jesus. Jesus is someone that you can look to and trust over everyone. He loves everyone unconditionally. No matter if other people love you or not you always will be loved by Jesus.
