Blog Post #10- Growth

  1. Which event that you learned about from the Church History textbook presentations did you find most interesting and why?
The textbook presentation I found most interesting was The Great Schism. I found this the most interesting, because I thought it was interesting that two types of Christianity came from this. Even though the differences weren't too major this was still enough to spilt them apart. They split into the Eastern and Western church. The Eastern Church is the Greek Orthodox and the Western Church is the Roman Catholics. Both of these types of Christianity are still important today.

  1. Which person whom you learned about from the Church History textbook presentations did you find most interesting and why?
The person I found most interesting was Charlemagne. I found him most interesting for many reasons. One of them being that he was one of the first leader to have an alliance with the Pope. He won back the Papal States, which was a territory that previously was owned by the Vatican. Because of this, he was also named the "Protector of the Papacy". Charlemagne did good for the Catholic Church and it thrived with his help.

  1. If you end up being known as an influential figure in history, what do you want to be remembered for?
If I was an influential figure I would want to be known for helping people achieve their dreams. I would want to give people hope and remind them anything is possible if they work for it. I would want to be able to give people the resources they don't have to better themselves and get them closer to their goals. For example if someone wants to go to college but can't afford it, I would try to raise money for them or help them get scholarships. I think it would be a good thing to be remembered for. I think a lot of people would benefit from it or get inspired to help others.

  1. How have you personally experienced growth (either mentally, emotionally or spiritually) after your own challenges in life?
I have experienced a lot of growth through my life. Everything that happens, whether its good or bad helps me grow and become a stronger, better person. The thing that helped me grow the most is the people in my life. The people that have had a negative impact on my life have helped me become stronger. They have taught me to be able to deal with worse people and be careful who I trust. The people that have positively impacted my life have helped me to become a better person.
