Blog Post #11: Bridge to Present (Notre Dame Community)

1. What did you find interesting about the history of the Sisters of Notre Dame?
   I found a lot of things interesting about the Sisters of Notre Dame. One thing being that they
   were able to build so many schools and make the Notre Dame schools so well known. They 
   now have many successful locations and continue to spread what they believe in to students of 
   these schools. Another thing I found interesting is how they made the Notre Dame name so well known across the world. I find it interesting that people choose to specifically follow them. They're huge impact has helped the church grow today and has spread the word of God to 
   younger people like us.

2. What is something that you heard from the Alumnae Panel that stuck with you and why?
   Something that stuck with me was how much Notre Dame has changed throughout the years. I found it very interesting when Mrs. Brady said that when she went here it was a boarding 
   school and they were very strict. I thought it was interesting that they were only aloud to wear dresses or skirts for free dress and they could only carry around a certain amount of books. I 
   also thought it was interesting that a lot of things were still the same like the fact they had
   uniforms and class colors and mascots. Another thing that was very different is they used to
   have nuns teaching, and now we don't. Over all a lot of things have changed and others have stayed consistent.

3. What does it mean to you to be a part of the Notre Dame Community?
   To me being apart of the Notre Dame community is engaging in the events that go on during 
   and outside of school that Notre Dame holds. It also means that you are accepting and kind to everyone in the school. I think it also means appreciating what the school does for you.  
   Respecting the teachers and staff. Being ready to learn and positive about school. These are 
   all important parts of being apart of the Notre Dame Community.

4. When you leave Notre Dame High School, what do you think are some values that will stay 
   with you?
   When I leave Notre Dame some values I will take with me are honesty and sisterhood. Notre Dame is filled with so many good values. I think every value I have developed from Notre Dame will be useful in the future. These values have helped me shape myself to who I am today. Notre Dame promotes good values. And I think Notre Dame has effected and improved everyone's values.
